The thick wooden door slowly creaked open, a young girl darting inside and slowly closing the door behind her. She was a princess, as she was wearing a crown of some sort.
She sat on the floor, smiling to herself. “She is going to take forever to find me in here,” she thought, and giggled.
She looked around the fairly large room she was in. It was empty, no paintings or furniture anywhere in the room. But, on the wall, right across from the door she had come through, there was something hanging there covered by a large sheet of cloth. She stood up and walked to the thing on the wall.
She pulled the cloth to the ground and a cloud of dust surrounded her. Coughing, she waved the dust away and stared as a tall mirror was revealed.
“Interesting..” she whispered. She reached out to touch the mirror, then pulled her hand back suddenly as the mirror rippled slightly. “Whoa..”
The mirror began to glow and the girl, entranced by it, reached out her hand. Her fingers brushed the surface and she was pulled away, into the mirror.
A clang sounded through the room, as her crown fell, rolling across the floor.
All was silent.
